Emirates set to launch complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi starting November 23 Emirates set to launch complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi starting November 23
Emirates is set to provide complimentary, ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet, commencing with its inaugural Boeing 777 commercial flight featuring this technology on 23 November. The airline aims to finalize the rollout by mid-2027, encompassing all 232 aircraft.

Emirates will introduce the world’s inaugural Starlink-equipped A380 early next year and plans to own the largest fleet of A380s with Starlink by 2026. Attendees at the Dubai Airshow will have the chance to experience the new connectivity onboard A6-EPF, the Boeing 777-300ER currently exhibited.

Starlink will be installed on approximately 14 aircraft monthly, with installations on A380s commencing in February 2026. Each Boeing 777 will be outfitted with two antennae, while every A380 will feature three antennae — a first in the industry — to ensure optimal connectivity and coverage throughout all cabin classes. Live TV over Starlink is expected to be accessible starting late December 2025, initially on personal devices and subsequently on seatback screens.

The complimentary service promises ground-like internet speeds, empowering passengers to stream content, play games, make calls, work, and browse seamlessly on both personal devices and seatback screens with easy one-click access. Also Read: Samsung commits $310 billion to new AI chip plant set to begin operations in 2028

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, remarked: “Collaboration with Starlink represents a pivotal moment in our relentless pursuit of enhancing our customers’ flying experience. We’re unveiling the world’s fastest Wi-Fi, raising the expectations for inflight connectivity, such as effortless productivity, instant communication with family, and an uninterrupted link to their digital lives. This is only a part of the transformation occurring throughout our fleet.”

He further stated, “Emirates’ philosophy is straightforward yet impactful: we aim to provide consistency. While others offer a confusing array of products across a diverse fleet, we want every customer to experience Emirates’ top products, not limited to specific routes or aircraft types. This underlines our substantial investment in our retrofit strategy. The most sophisticated connectivity, exceptional cabins, extensive entertainment options, and superb service from our dedicated Cabin Crew — all reflect our significant commitment to elevating air travel standards.”

Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, noted: “With Starlink aboard your Emirates flight, you’ll enjoy streaming, gaming, and flawless video calls, as if you were on the ground. We are thrilled to enhance Emirates’ travel experience and facilitate the swift installation of Starlink while focusing on maintaining overall service quality.”

The introduction of Starlink aligns with Emirates’ extensive cabin refurbishment initiative — nearly 220 aircraft are receiving upgrades, and 76 fully refurbished aircraft have already resumed service featuring new Premium Economy, revamped Business Class, refreshed First Class, and enhanced entertainment systems.
