Though the advisory is part of routine operations, it was issued shortly before the Red Fort explosion, which subsequently led to a security lockdown across Delhi. In response to the blast, security agencies heightened alert levels in the national capital, focusing on sensitive sites including the airport, Metro, and major railway stations in the NCR.
Officials reported that enhanced checks and surveillance measures were swiftly implemented at IGI Airport as precautionary actions, considering the increased threat level, according to India Today. Travelers arriving and departing from Delhi were encouraged to arrive well ahead of their scheduled flights due to potential delays amid intensified security and technical flight regulations.
