Former Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly, who serves as the brand ambassador for Tripura tourism, is set to attend the closing ceremony of Unity Promo Fest-2025 in Agartala on December 12, according to a report from PTI. The festival is an annual initiative by the Tripura government aimed at showcasing the state’s tourism potential on a global platform.

“Unity Promo Fest-2025 commenced in Dhalai district on November 8 and has received a positive response from residents. Sourav Ganguly will participate in the closing ceremony of the event on December 12,” stated Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference.

He mentioned that Chief Minister Manik Saha is scheduled to inaugurate the closing ceremony, while Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal will provide entertainment at the Swami Vivekananda Ground.

A total of 122 tour operators from 28 states will attend the Unity Promo Fest-2025, with 48 operators participating in the previous year and engaging in discussions with the chief minister, he added.

“This year, tour operators from Thailand, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Malaysia will be present at the event, all set to meet with the chief minister,” he noted.

Chowdhury indicated that the government is striving to establish a presence on the international tourism map by highlighting the state’s natural beauty, culture, and traditions.

He also noted that last year, Tripura recorded the second highest number of foreign tourist arrivals in the Northeastern region, following Sikkim, based on data from the Ministry of Tourism.
