Earlier that day, Air India announced the diversion of its Delhi-Tel Aviv flight to Mumbai due to the closure of Israeli airspace.
“AI139 operating from Delhi to Tel Aviv on 28 February is returning to India due to the airspace closure in Israel, prioritizing the safety of our passengers and crew,” the airline stated.
The statement further noted, “Air India regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers because of this unexpected situation and remains dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards… We will continuously evaluate the safety and security environment for our flight operations and proactively adjust as necessary”.
IndiGo communicated via X that it is “closely monitoring updates from the region” concerning Iran.
“The safety and security of our customers and crew are our utmost priority. Our teams are ready to make any necessary changes as the situation develops,” the airline shared.
The airline has recommended that customers check their flight status before heading to the airport.
“In case of any impact, we will promptly communicate updates via registered contact details. We remain committed to keeping you informed and providing unwavering support during this time,” it added.

Multiple international airlines have already halted flights in the area.
Lufthansa has suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut, and Oman until March 7, as well as flights to and from Dubai over the weekend.
Air France has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv and Beirut scheduled for Saturday.
Wizz Air has opted to suspend flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Amman until March 7, while Air Arabia has canceled flights to Iran, Iraq, and other regions.
