In an advisory dated June 27, the ministry indicated that it has received numerous appeals for assistance from Indian citizens stranded in Nepal while participating in this pilgrimage, having embarked on their journey through unregulated private tour operators without the essential entry permits and visas for China.
The MEA urged citizens not to start their expedition from India without obtaining complete travel documents for the entire route.
“Initiating travel without confirmed documentation or with the hope of acquiring the requisite approvals increases the risk of becoming stranded,” the ministry noted.
Additionally, the ministry strongly advised pilgrims to ensure their chosen tour operator is properly registered and authorized before beginning their pilgrimage.
