On December 3, various airports experienced issues with their check-in systems due to a system outage, according to sources from PTI. Some flights are reportedly delayed as a result of technical problems. “Microsoft Windows is facing significant service outages globally, impacting IT services and check-in systems at airports,” a message shared at the Varanasi airport indicated.

As stated in the message, airlines have resorted to manual check-in and boarding processes.

At least four airlines—IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Air India Express—are affected, as per PTI’s report. There has been no immediate response from Microsoft or the affected airlines.

“Several domestic airlines are currently facing operational challenges, causing potential delays or scheduling issues. Our teams on the ground are actively collaborating with all stakeholders to facilitate a seamless experience for passengers,” noted DIAL in a post on X at 7:40 AM. Specific details have not been confirmed as of yet.
