Furthermore, IndiGo has plans to gradually increase its operations from the second airport of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by adding direct routes to additional destinations over time.
Spanning 1,160 hectares, the airport will feature a single terminal and runway in its initial phase, with a capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually. The first phase of the airport has been developed at a cost of ₹ 19,650 crore.

The facility was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8 of this year.
IndiGo stated it will link the future-ready airport to ten cities throughout India, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, North Goa (Mopa), Jaipur, Nagpur, Kochi, and Mangalore, starting December 25.
Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is aimed at complementing the existing Mumbai International Airport and addressing the rising demand for air travel from India’s financial hub, according to the airline.

Strategically positioned, NMIA is anticipated to significantly enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth in western India.
Gurugram-based IndiGo operates over 2,300 daily flights to more than 130 destinations, which include 90 domestic airports.
