Bath & Body Works has been teasing its fans and followers to the nth degree, and the news is finally out. Announced today, July 6, the beloved body-care brand unveiled its new Fruit Fusion collection, with Hilary Duff fronting the campaign and serving as creative partner.
“We needed to show the world that the brand was shifting and reigniting in a way,” Bath & Body Works’ chief brand and product officer Veronique Gabai-Pinsky told Glossy of the partnership. “Today the brand is all about joy, but also the care, the feeling good, the confidence. And we believe that Hilary had all of this. And she has her moment right now. It’s the first time she’s touring in 18 years. She’s coming back in the ears and hearts of her public in a big way.”
The Fruit Fusion collection spans body and shower care, including body wash, body mist, body lotion, body cream, lip oil and the newly introduced PocketSpray Hand Sanitizer. There’s also a playful fruit-shaped coin purse designed to match each of the four scents: Berry Bliss, Tangerine Twirl, Watermelon Whirl and Banana Blend.
Full disclosure: Bath & Body Works generously sent the collection for testing, and while I was initially skeptical that another fruit-inspired launch could feel different, this one does. The fun factor is high: The new PocketSpray Hand Sanitizer ($5) can be paired with a cute, summer-camp-inspired wristlet carrier, which I clipped onto a weekender ahead of a Fourth of July cabin trip. Each product is also decorated with a tiny removable fruit charm you can repurpose elsewhere, along with silicone details that give the packaging a more tactile, playful feel.
I’m particularly obsessed with Banana Blend, which smells like the body-care equivalent of Banana Laffy Taffy—sweet and nostalgic, but fresh enough that I don’t feel ridiculous wearing it as a 31-year-old mom. The body wash is my favorite way to use it: It lathers beautifully, leaves skin feeling clean and moisturized, and even doubles as shaving cream. A little goes a long way, too, making it an easy way to turn a routine shower into a treat.
