In its statement, the MEA noted that both parties agreed to “expedite the resumption of direct air services” between the two countries—an essential step toward fostering people-to-people interactions and boosting the aviation and tourism industries.
The discussions also addressed other initiatives aimed at strengthening ties, including finalizing an updated Air Services Agreement. The Indian delegation expressed optimism regarding concluding the agreement soon.

Both nations committed to implementing concrete measures to facilitate visa processes and promote exchanges between journalists, media organizations, and think tanks. Foreign Secretary Misri expressed gratitude to the Chinese delegation for its assistance in enabling the resumption of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra this year, a pilgrimage route of profound religious and cultural significance.
The two officials also reviewed progress on trans-border river cooperation, including discussions that took place in April under the Expert Level Mechanism. India conveyed hopes for ongoing Chinese collaboration in sharing hydrological data and further discussions on water-related matters.
Misri and Sun assessed preparations to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between their two countries. Both sides pledged to support planned activities and facilitate commemorative exchanges.

Furthermore, they committed to continuing structured dialogues, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, to address unresolved issues and enhance collaboration.
Reflecting on developments since their last discussions in Beijing in January, both nations reiterated their intention to stabilize and rebuild bilateral relations, with a specific emphasis on people-centric initiatives and practical engagement.
