This visa enables them to enter India for targeted business operations, such as the installation and commissioning of equipment, quality inspections, and necessary maintenance tasks.
Applications for this visa can be submitted online, negating the need to visit embassies or agents, according to a recent advisory from the Indian Embassy, as reported by PTI.
The establishment of the e-B-4 Visa addresses the growing demand for business travel to India. It has a processing timeframe of 45-50 days and permits holders to remain in India for a maximum of six months.
The advisory states that the visa is applicable for activities such as installation and commissioning, quality control and maintenance, production, IT and ERP enhancements, training, supply chain development for supplier engagement, plant design and establishment, as well as senior management and executive duties.
Chinese nationals can apply by submitting their applications online, accompanied by the required supporting documents, on the designated portal under the ‘For e-Visa by Bureau of Immigration’ section.
Indian firms wishing to invite Chinese citizens may also apply on behalf of these individuals by registering on DPIIT’s NSWS (National Single Window System) portal under the ‘Login-Business User Login’ option.
This initiative is part of broader, people-focused measures agreed upon by both nations to realign their diplomatic relations.
