On Wednesday, December 24, IndiGo announced that it has fully stabilized its operations and is ready to accommodate the anticipated increase in passenger demand during the current holiday season.
An IndiGo spokesperson mentioned that since December 9, 2025, the airline has been consistently increasing its capacity in accordance with government regulations and is currently operating between 2,100 and 2,200 flights each day. IndiGo is transporting over one million passengers every three days across its network, connecting all 138 operational destinations while upholding its standards for on-time performance.
The airline stated it has effectively navigated recent operational hurdles encountered by the aviation industry, particularly due to heavy fog across northern India that caused widespread disruptions. Despite being affected, IndiGo managed operations efficiently to ensure overall stability.
With weather forecasts predicting a tougher winter ahead, the airline emphasized its commitment to ensuring reliability and minimizing disruptions across its network to lessen passenger inconvenience.
First Airbus A321XLR aircraft
Looking forward, IndiGo announced plans to introduce its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft, expected to improve medium- to long-haul connectivity for travelers within India and the subcontinent. As reported earlier, the airline intends to utilize the aircraft on routes between Delhi and Mumbai with Athens starting January 23, 2026.
IndiGo also mentioned that it is assessing additional domestic and international destinations as part of its fleet expansion plans, with more updates to follow. The airline expressed gratitude to its customers for their ongoing trust and reiterated its dedication to enhancing connectivity within India and to important global destinations.
Shares of IndiGo parent Interglobe Aviation closed at ₹5080.90 on the BSE today.
