The special trains will operate from December 27 to January 1 to handle the surge in passenger numbers during the holiday season, said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division.
Officials indicated that a special reserved train will run from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from December 27 to December 31 (five trips). Similarly, another special reserved train will operate from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi from December 28 to January 1 (five trips). Singhal noted that these special trains have been introduced to accommodate the growing number of tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir and to fulfill the travel needs of local residents during the festive period.
“These services will assist passengers in connecting with their families and managing the New Year rush effectively,” he remarked, adding that the trains will be equipped with 16 coaches.
Passengers can reserve tickets via the official Indian Railways website, mobile application, or authorized agents. He recommended that travelers verify train timings prior to their journey.
