Indian travellers looking to explore Europe can now conveniently book various popular attractions and experiences on a single platform in Indian Rupees, simplifying their itinerary planning and minimizing the need to visit multiple foreign websites.

MakeMyTrip has incorporated offerings from operators such as Merlin Entertainments, Jungfrau Railway Group, Rail Europe, and Big Bus Tours into its Tours & Attractions platform. This includes popular experiences like the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE aquariums, Switzerland’s Jungfrau Railway, and open-top city sightseeing tours in London, Paris, and Rome.

While Indian travellers have had the option to pay in Rupees for select tour packages in the past, the latest update facilitates standalone bookings for multiple operators in one location, eliminating the need for currency conversion or multiple reservations. Holiday packages on MakeMyTrip generally feature six to eight pre-booked activities, with data showing a strong uptake of these experiences: approximately 20% of travellers opt for Big Bus tours, 30% book Jungfrau experiences, over 75% use Rail Europe tickets, and 20% choose Merlin attractions.

Jasmeet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer – Holidays & Experiences at MakeMyTrip, stated, “By consolidating multiple European operators onto a single platform, users can plan their itineraries and pay in Indian Rupees without having to navigate through separate websites or currencies.”

This update enhances the platform’s existing inventory of over 2 lakh experiences across 1,100 cities globally, demonstrating ongoing efforts to integrate tours and activities into the trip planning process for Indian travellers.
