Authorities had temporarily halted the pilgrimage on Saturday as the Bhawan experienced substantial crowding, with 39,000 devotees paying their respects at the temple by late afternoon.
Chaitra Navratri began on March 19 and will conclude on March 27.
“The yatra has resumed after a short pause caused by the influx of visitors at the Bhawan,” stated an official from the shrine board. He noted that registration for the yatra recommenced this morning in Katra.
So far, nearly one lakh devotees have offered their prayers, with officials ensuring that arrangements for the pilgrimage run smoothly and safely.
On Saturday, over 39,000 pilgrims made their way to the holy town of Katra to pay homage at the Mata Vaishno Devi temple, according to officials.
Officials also mentioned that an additional 5,000 pilgrims were heading to the cave shrine after registering, amid a significant crowd at the registration center.
Scores of devotees chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ were trekking along the winding path to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple on the third day of Navratri, seeking the deity’s blessings.
Adorned with a diverse array of fresh flowers that filled the air with sweet aromas and illuminated by vibrant lights, the cave shrine is experiencing a significant surge in pilgrims.
Authorities have implemented multi-tiered security measures at the Katra base camp and along the route to the shrine to guarantee a safe and secure yatra.
The sacred Shat Chandi Maha Yagya commenced at the esteemed Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine on Thursday, marking the auspicious start of Chaitra Navratri 2026.
