On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Banaras railway station. These trains will run on the routes connecting Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru.

According to an official statement, the semi-high-speed trains will greatly decrease travel time between key stations, improve regional connectivity, foster tourism, and bolster economic activities across the nation.

The Banaras-Khajuraho service will link significant cultural and religious sites, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot, officials noted.

PM Modi arrived in Varanasi on November 7 for a two-day trip, landing at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur aboard a special aircraft. He was welcomed by State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and District In-charge Suresh Khanna, Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, and various party MLAs.

From the airport, his convoy traveled by road to the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) guest house in Bareka, where he stayed overnight.

Along the route, he was greeted by locals, party members, and officials at multiple points.

The Uttar Pradesh government stated that the prime minister was celebrated en route with chants of ‘Modi-Modi’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’.

His convoy from the airport to Bareka was welcomed with flower showers, and the pathway was lit up with saffron and tricolor lights, the statement added.

Upon arrival at the Bareka Guest House, Modi was greeted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “The people of Kashi are extremely enthusiastic about the prime minister’s visit,” remarked the party’s Kashi region president Dilip Patel.

Patel also noted that Modi plans to hold a meeting this evening at the guest house with public representatives and booth workers.
