The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (Code: TRV) has seen its accreditation advanced to Level 3 from Level 2, which was granted in July 2024, according to an airport statement released on Saturday.
The Airport Customer Experience Accreditation is a multilevel program established by Airports Council International (ACI) to assist airports in achieving excellence in managing customer experience.
Level 3 is conferred based on criteria such as airport culture, governance, operational enhancements, measurement, customer strategy, and understanding of customer needs, the statement outlined.
The airport has adopted various initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger experience and ensuring smoother processing, the statement noted.
For instance, the airport has expanded the number of retail and food outlets to provide a better mix of options for travelers; it has also integrated technology such as Digi Yatra, Fast Track Immigration (FTI TTP), an automatic cleaning system utilizing a Made in India Robot, and the introduction of e-gates, all of which have contributed to an improved passenger experience, the statement explained.
Numerous changes have been implemented over recent years, based on observations and feedback from passengers, it added.
