The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has suggested renaming Renigunta Airport to Sri Venkateswara International Airport, as stated by the temple body’s chairman, BR Naidu. At a recent press conference, Naidu affirmed that a formal proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He mentioned that the airport will undergo redesign to create a spiritual and devotional atmosphere.

“We have proposed to name Renigunta Airport after Lord Sri Venkateswara. The airport will embody the divine aesthetics of Tirumala,” Naidu stated.

In addition to renaming the airport, TTD has revealed plans to build a Srivari temple in Bengaluru, awaiting land allocation from the Karnataka government.
During the conference, Naidu announced that Union Minister for Heavy Industries, Kumara Swamy, has agreed to supply 100 electric buses to TTD. These vehicles are anticipated to arrive in Tirumala soon, aimed at improving sustainable transportation for pilgrims in the area.
