In a public advisory, the police instructed rail passengers to arrive “at least one hour prior to the scheduled departure of their trains”, Metro users to get to stations “at least 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure of the Metro”, and international travellers to be present at the airport “at least 3 hours before their scheduled international flight.”
Officials indicated that this guidance is intended to facilitate smoother security checks, reduce congestion, and avoid last-minute delays as screening protocols become more stringent at key railway stations, Metro stations, and Delhi airport.

Security agencies heightened their preparedness after a significant blast occurred in a slow-moving vehicle near Red Fort Metro Station on the evening of November 10, resulting in at least 12 fatalities and numerous injuries. This incident has led to a broad tightening of controls throughout the transport network.
On November 11, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway increased surveillance and patrols, according to officials. All units have been put on heightened alert, with extra personnel dispatched to vulnerable locations in the zone.
Dog squads have been activated, and extensive anti-sabotage checks are being carried out within stations, railway premises, and on trains. CCTV monitoring has also been enhanced, ensuring continuous observation of platforms and concourses around the clock.
