Nearing inauguration, Noida International Airport (NIA) is crafted to embody Indian culture, instantly immersing passengers in the identity of the state upon their arrival, according to an official statement from December 11.

Fusing Swiss precision with Indian warmth, NIA aims to provide a seamless, comfortable, and world-class travel experience equipped with cutting-edge technology and facilities, it stated.

Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, Additional CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, mentioned that the airport would elevate UP’s and India’s global standing.

“NIA will ensure passengers experience a quick, fluid, and unforgettable journey at every touchpoint. The Chief Minister is overseeing the progress closely and recently visited the site to evaluate the work and issue directions,” he noted.

The terminal will showcase intricately carved elements like lattice screens which will also manage natural light and airflow, he added.

The grand entrance takes inspiration from the iconic ghats of Varanasi and Haridwar, reflecting the spiritual and historical heritage of the region, the statement said.

Inside, a spacious haveli-style courtyard will foster an open and inviting atmosphere, emphasizing the significance of courtyards in Indian architecture.

The terminal’s flowing white roof symbolizes the serene, continuous flow of UP’s prominent rivers, representing a harmonious fusion of nature and modernity.

Noida International Airport will also deliver a state-of-the-art, digital-first travel experience.

Innovative features like self-bag-drop machines, self-boarding gates, and biometric-based DigiYatra at all entry points will minimize wait times and enhance the passenger journey.

Smart signage, user-friendly interfaces, and fully digital processes have been incorporated to provide maximum convenience and efficiency, it stated.

The authorities indicated that the airport’s retail space will highlight a combination of local handicrafts, artwork, modern brands, and unique souvenirs.

Duty-free outlets, premium shops, and UP’s signature crafts, such as Banarasi silk, chikankari, and attar, will be available for purchase.

Noida International Airport has been envisioned as a green airport, with sustainability woven into every phase from construction to daily operations, the statement emphasized.

The airport complex will extensively utilize renewable energy sources, especially solar power and off-grid wind systems, to lessen reliance on conventional energy. Rainwater harvesting, advanced waste management, and modern sewage treatment facilities will further bolster its environmental protections.

EV charging stations will be distributed throughout the campus to promote electric mobility and lower carbon emissions.
