India has made a remarkable impression in the Prix Versailles 2026 World Selection, with four locations recognized among the finest-designed airports, hotels, and restaurants across the globe. This annual compilation honors outstanding achievements in architecture and design across various categories, including airports, hotels, restaurants, and museums.

The country’s nominations feature Terminal 2 of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and Terminal 1 of Navi Mumbai International Airport in the airport segment, along with The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace in Khajuraho representing hotels, and Rosso in Hinganigada for restaurants.

No Indian museum was included in this year’s museum category, which highlighted institutions from countries like the UAE, China, Japan, Lithuania, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

Two Indian airport projects received accolades in the 2026 World Selection.

Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Terminal 2

The new terminal in Guwahati showcases the culture and natural heritage of Northeast India. Inspired by the bamboo orchid, it features expansive ceilings, local art, and traditional craftsmanship.

Navi Mumbai International Airport, Terminal 1

Inaugurated in 2025, this terminal, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, draws inspiration from the lotus flower. It features lotus-shaped columns, spacious interiors, and digital art displays.

World’s Most Beautiful HotelsThe Oberoi Rajgarh Palace, Khajuraho

This 350-year-old fort in Madhya Pradesh has been transformed into a luxury hotel near Panna National Park. Surrounded by mountains, forests, and a lake, the property fuses heritage architecture with contemporary hospitality.

The hotel was honored alongside establishments from countries such as France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.

World’s Most Beautiful RestaurantsRosso, Hinganigada

India’s entry in the restaurant category, Rosso, is housed within Hotel Irada in Pune Wine Country. Boasting views of vineyards and woods, the restaurant marries Southern Italian cuisine with interiors drawing from Indian and Mediterranean influences.
