IndiGo has launched a new economy class fare known as ‘IndiGo Lite’ for passengers traveling with only cabin baggage. The airline stated that this new offering aims to provide customers with greater flexibility and control by allowing them to pay solely for the services they require.

The fare option will be available for bookings on IndiGo’s official website, app, and contact center starting July 1, with travel commencing July 15. It will be offered on both domestic and international non-stop routes for one-way, round-trip, and multi-city journeys for adult and child travelers alike.

The Lite fare features a reduced base fare, an automatically assigned seat, and a cabin baggage allowance of up to 7 kg. Travelers can enhance their experience by adding optional services such as check-in baggage, preferred seating, meals, and priority services like Fast Forward.
These optional services can be purchased via IndiGo’s website or at the airport up to one hour prior to departure. Passengers opting for the Lite fare will still be able to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points.

The launch of IndiGo Lite broadens the airline’s 6E Ways to Fly options, which also include Saver, Flexi Plus, IndiGo UpFront, IndiGoStretch, and Stretch+, providing travelers with various choices tailored to their needs and budget. Customers can select the fare that best aligns with their requirements and book the Lite fare through IndiGo’s website, app, or contact center.

As per Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo, the new fare is tailored for those who prefer to travel light and wish to pay only for necessary services. Discussing the launch, Singh mentioned that the airline is committed to expanding its product range to address the evolving needs of different types of travelers. “IndiGo Lite is another step towards enhancing our strong, fit-for-purpose product portfolio,” he remarked.
