The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has not issued a general warning against travel to Turkey but recommends avoiding all travel within 10 km of the Syrian border due to ongoing fighting and an increased risk of terrorism. It has also highlighted that regional tensions pose serious security risks and may lead to travel disruptions.
Travel advisories indicate that popular tourist spots like Istanbul, Antalya, and Cappadocia are operating as usual, but travelers are encouraged to stay vigilant, keep an eye on official updates, and reassess their departure plans as necessary.
Flight services to and from Turkey are ongoing; however, delays and cancellations may occur as airlines adapt to the shifting airspace conditions in certain parts of the Middle East. Turkish Airlines has also suspended some flights to regional destinations, including Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and the UAE.
While Turkey is not directly involved in the current conflict, travelers are advised to steer clear of high-risk border regions and remain alert to any changes in regional security dynamics.
