The revised structure sees a reduction in the points needed for award flights and upgrades across most of the airline’s network.
Average economy class redemptions have decreased by approximately 30% on a majority of domestic and international routes, while reductions for business and premium economy are less significant.
Domestic award tickets will now begin at 1,500 points.
For international routes, redemption levels have been standardized by region. One-way award tickets will start at 35,000 points for Europe, 40,000 points for the United States and Australia, and 50,000 points for Canada.
However, certain routes may have experienced no change or an increase in the points required.
The airline has also implemented a tier-based structure for the cancellation and rescheduling of award tickets. Members can modify bookings without incurring a fee within designated timelines according to their tier, after which a flat fee will apply. Points used for upgrades will be refunded if tickets are canceled, subject to certain conditions.
Modifications have also been made to tier qualification.
The flight requirements to achieve membership tiers have been lessened, though the spending requirement remains the same. The updated thresholds will be applied retrospectively to flights taken in the past 12 months.
Moreover, select travel benefits like priority services and lounge access will be available to one co-passenger traveling on the same booking as eligible members.
Points earned on flights will now be credited within two hours or sooner, including those from partner airlines.
