The Government of India organizes the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra every year from June to September via two designated routes — the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, operational since 1981, and the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim, in use since 2015.
The Yatra is regarded as one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism and also holds importance for followers of Jainism and Buddhism. It encompasses the arduous trek to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, situated in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
