As part of the agreement, the station will be branded as “ixigo New Delhi Metro Station” in various on-ground promotional placements. This initiative will also feature in-metro audio announcements such as “The next station is New Delhi, ixigo” and “Agla station New Delhi, ixigo hai,” integrating the brand into the information systems for commuters.
New Delhi Metro Station serves as a key interchange in the Delhi Metro network, linking the Yellow Line and Airport Express Line. It grants access to New Delhi Railway Station (Ajmeri Gate side) and provides connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport terminals T2 and T3, as well as important commercial and tourist areas, including Connaught Place. The station experiences substantial passenger traffic due to its function as a central transit hub in the capital.
Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt, emphasized the station’s crucial role in daily mobility across the region. He noted that the initiative is designed to position ixigo at vital travel touchpoints and aligns with the company’s expansion into metro ticketing services, including QR-based bookings for Delhi Metro and Mumbai Metro.
The company explained that this branding endeavor is part of its broader strategy to harmonize digital travel services with physical transit infrastructure, aiming to enhance visibility during significant travel decision moments.
ixigo operates as a travel technology platform, providing services in train, flight, bus, and hotel bookings through its consumer applications, including ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and AbhiBus.
