At Nordstrom, the At-Home Beauty Device Boom Is Showing No Signs of Slowing Down

The line between in-office treatments and at-home beauty routines continues to blur. Once considered niche investments, beauty devices have become a hugely popular category as beauty lovers continue to look for ways to get those professional-level results at home. From LED light therapy masks to sauna blankets, today’s beauty tech promises to address everything from fine lines and breakouts to unwanted hair and dullness. Of course, there are some in-office procedures that can never be replaced by at-home devices, but having the option to experience some anti-aging treatments from the comfort of your own home is beneficial.

Retailers are taking notice. Nordstrom, in particular, is seeing strong momentum across its assortment of beauty devices; consumers are showing noticeable interest in tools that complement the results of their professional treatments. As shoppers become more educated about beauty tech and increasingly prioritize easy-to-use, efficacious products, at-home beauty devices are evolving from occasional splurges into everyday staples. Ahead, Nordstrom National Beauty Director Autumne West shares the trends and products she’s seeing across Nordstrom stores.

Today’s at-home beauty device consumers are thinking beyond quick fixes; rather, they’re focusing on long-term skin and hair health. Shoppers are really responding to “Devices that work and that they can actually stick with,” says West. She adds that they’re looking for “Efficacy, ease of use and ideally some clinical backing or strong consumer proof.”

Given the rise in popularity, there’s also plenty of innovation in the space. “Beauty tech right now is so exciting and we’re really in a golden era of at-home devices,” says West. “The categories I’m most excited by are LED light therapy, cooling and de-puffing tools, scalp and hair wellness and anything that supports overall skin health over time.” Rather than dramatic overnight results, people are investing in tools that prevent as well as maintain. “Shoppers aren’t just chasing a quick fix, but instead they want preventative and intentional care,” says West. They’re shopping in particular for “Tools that support firmness, radiance and healthy aging before things become a concern,” she adds, noting how savvy shoppers are these days. “It’s a really sophisticated approach to beauty and I love that.”

Because users are so well-versed in beauty devices at this point, these at-home tools also offer them customization and control. “A lot of people are using these to extend the life of a professional treatment, or to maintain results between appointments,” says West. “These devices aren’t niche gadgets anymore but they’re everyday beauty staples. The ability to get real, visible results on your own schedule is everything.” Check out some of West’s favorite at-home beauty devices you can pick up at Nordstrom.

“This one is such a morning game-changer,” says West. “The cool sonic technology feels incredibly satisfying and it’s one of those tools where you can actually see and feel the difference right away. If you’re someone who wakes up a little puffy (same), this is going to become a non-negotiable.”

“At-home facial technology continues to evolve, and shoppers are looking for devices that deliver visible results while simplifying their skin-care routines,” says West. “The Shark FacialPro stands out because it combines multiple treatment steps—including exfoliation, pore cleansing, hydration and cooling therapy—into one easy-to-use system. It’s a great example of how beauty tech is making professional-inspired treatments more accessible, helping consumers achieve healthier-looking, more radiant skin from home in just a few minutes.”

Hair tools remain one of the strongest beauty tech categories because consumers continue to prioritize both performance and hair health.” says West. “The Dyson Supersonic Travel Hair Dryer delivers the same high-performance experience people expect from Dyson in a compact, travel-friendly design, making it easy to maintain a consistent styling routine wherever they are. Its intelligent technology and focus on minimizing heat damage reflect what today’s beauty consumer is looking for: innovative tools that make everyday routines faster, easier and better for the long-term health and appearance of their hair.”

“Wellness and beauty continue to converge, and products like the HigherDOSE Sauna Blanket reflect that shift,” says West. “Consumers are increasingly interested in self-care rituals that support both how they look and how they feel. The appeal lies in creating a spa-like experience at home while supporting overall wellness.“
