What do Indian travellers consider before booking a hotel? According to Agoda’s findings, Indians primarily concentrate on three main filters: type of accommodation, breakfast options, and review scores. These filters are the most frequently used on the digital travel platform in 2026.

The insights are derived from accommodation searches conducted from January 1 to April 15, 2026, across ten Asian markets, including India, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand.

For Indian users, the type of accommodation is the foremost priority, as noted by Agoda. Travellers are actively selecting from hotels, resorts, apartments, and villas based on their trip requirements. This indicates a significant move towards tailored travel planning, giving users more control over their booking choices.
The second essential filter is breakfast. A large number of travellers favor properties that provide meals, adding convenience and helping to manage overall expenses. This is particularly beneficial for family vacations and short stays, where arranging meals separately may be a hassle.

Review scores rank as the third most-utilized filter. Many travellers heavily depend on ratings and reviews from fellow guests before making a choice. Higher-rated accommodations are generally perceived as more trustworthy concerning service, cleanliness, and overall experience.

The data implies that Indian travellers are not merely browsing; they are using filters to swiftly narrow down options that suit their requirements. This streamlines the booking process and enhances efficiency.

Agoda stated that this trend signifies a broader tendency towards more intelligent and focused travel planning, with users relying on platform tools to make well-informed decisions. The platform also announced forthcoming offers, including discounts of up to 70% on May 19, along with deals on flights and activities. VIP members will have early access to these deals from May 3 to May 6.

With over 6 million properties available globally, Agoda continues to provide a vast array of booking options through its website and mobile application, available in 39 languages. It is evident that Indian travellers prioritize convenience, flexibility, and reliable reviews when selecting their accommodations.
