Are you organizing your next getaway? Discover Google’s latest travel tools to monitor flights, utilize miles, and make hotel reservations.

Planning a getaway often entails comparing flight prices, checking accommodation costs, managing loyalty points, and deciding where to book. Google is addressing these travel-related challenges by rolling out not just one or two, but three new features within AI mode in search.

The latest enhancement unveils important aspects, such as flight price tracking, information on points and miles for eligible flights and hotels, and direct hotel booking in AI mode for users in the United States.

With this feature, travelers can access real-time information to compare flights and hotels, discover the best recommendations online, and create the ideal travel itinerary. Here’s a closer examination of what the new Google AI travel features can accomplish:

Track flight prices

It can be quite annoying to wait for the right airfare while organizing a trip, but Google is now incorporating its Google Flights price tracking feature into AI mode, enabling users to set up price alerts while discussing their travel intentions.

Travelers can inform AI mode about their desired destination and travel dates, and it will provide flight options using up-to-date information from over 300 partner airlines and travel websites.

If you’re ready to make a reservation, you can construct your entire itinerary in AI mode and purchase your tickets through the airline’s website or your preferred booking platform. Want to hold off and see if fares decrease? Just ask AI mode to track the prices.

Once tracking is activated, Google will send an email when there’s a price change for the chosen route and dates, allowing you to seize deals as soon as they arrive in your inbox. This feature is now accessible in more than 180 countries and territories across the globe.

Check how many points or miles you need

If you’re a frequent traveler and a member of hotel loyalty programs, redeeming your hard-earned rewards is an excellent way to save on travel expenses. AI mode in search can display the costs in points or miles for both flights and accommodations.

Instead of conducting separate searches for flights and then checking redemption rates in a loyalty program, users can request AI mode to find eligible options using their desired points or miles. The system can reveal the number of miles required to book corresponding flights, based on the latest data from participating partners.

The same principle applies to hotels. Users can specify their destination and travel dates and inquire how many points they will need through a specific rewards program. During booking, they can follow the link to the partner site to finalize their rewards redemption.

Google states that viewing points and miles rates in AI mode is now available globally, initially supporting programs and companies including Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Additional partners, such as Accor, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group, are expected to be integrated in the upcoming weeks.

Book your dream hotel right in AI mode

Google is also streamlining the hotel-booking experience. How? Just switch to AI mode in search, describe your destination, dates, and hotel preferences, and AI mode will present a visual array of properties along with guest reviews, price comparisons, and rewards.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Inform AI mode about your upcoming trip and hotel preferences to receive a visual list of options, complete with guest reviews and crucial factors for comparison.

Step 2: Once you’ve identified the ideal hotel, users can request assistance from AI mode to finalize the booking.

Step 3: Then, select ‘Continue on Google’ from the list of booking options.

Step 4: After this, the list of integrated partners, including hotel chains and online travel agencies, will display on the screen.

Step 5: Now, just choose your room type, review details such as the cancellation policy, and securely complete the booking via Google Pay.

Hotel booking through AI mode has begun rolling out in the US in English. It will be available in the coming weeks with participating partners including Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
