This integration allows users to search, book, and manage train journeys using the Cleartrip mobile app.
With this enhancement, Cleartrip broadens its offerings to include flights, hotels, buses, trains, and holiday packages, establishing itself as a comprehensive travel platform. The company stated that the service will provide access to train bookings across various routes in India, including both General and Tatkal quotas in accordance with the Ministry of Railways guidelines.
The platform also features real-time seat availability, fare details, PNR status tracking, berth preferences, and digital payment options all within one interface.
Cleartrip mentioned that this integration aims to simplify the process of booking train travel using IRCTC’s infrastructure. “Train travel is a vital component of India’s mobility ecosystem, and this launch is a significant step towards our vision of becoming a unified, multi-modal travel platform,” remarked Manjari Singhal, Chief Growth and Business Officer at Cleartrip.
Gaurav Patwari, Chief Business Officer (Air) at Cleartrip, noted that the segment has a vast passenger base and emphasized their commitment to optimizing booking and post-booking services through the platform.
Indian Railways manages one of the largest passenger networks globally, catering to millions of travellers every day. Cleartrip plans to roll out the train booking feature on its web platform in the next phase.
