Mela Officer Sonika Singh declared that the Ardh Kumbh will last four months, running from January to April 2027.
The initial bathing ceremony is scheduled for January 14 (Makar Sankranti); followed by the second on February 6 (Mauni Amavasya); the third on February 11 (Basant Panchami); the fourth on February 20 (Magh Purnima); and the fifth on March 6 (Mahashivratri), she explained.
Singh also mentioned that the sixth bathing event will take place on March 8 for Phalguna Amavasya; the seventh bath is planned for April 7 (Nav Samvatsar); the eighth on April 14 (Mesh Sankranti), and the ninth on April 15.
The event will conclude with the final bathing ritual on April 20, coinciding with Chaitra Purnima.
She further highlighted that the baths on March 6 (Mahashivratri), March 8 (Phalguna Amavasya), and April 14 (Mesh Sankranti) will be recognized as ’amrit snans’.
