“The first batch of Indian Hajis was welcomed at Madinah Airport by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan and Consul General @CGIJeddah Shri Fahad Suri, along with Deputy Ministers @HajMinistry H.E. Prof. Abdulaziz A. Wazzan and H.E. Eng. Ayad Abdulrahman Rahbini, alongside other senior Saudi officials,” the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia shared on X. Khan evaluated the facilities at Madinah Airport and engaged with Indian community volunteers aiding the Haj pilgrims, the statement noted.
The embassy extended its wishes for a “smooth, safe, and spiritually enriching Haj experience” to all Indian Haj pilgrims. Earlier on Friday, Khan also visited the Indian Haj Pilgrims Office and the Haj Clinic, assessing the preparations for the pilgrimage, it mentioned.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Minority Affairs, a total of 1,75,025 pilgrims are anticipated to travel to Saudi Arabia for Haj this year.
