In a statement to travelers, airport officials mentioned: “On 07 May 2026, CSMIA Mumbai will have both runways closed for 6 hours, from 11:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs, for extensive pre-monsoon maintenance. As a result, numerous flights to and from Mumbai are cancelled. We kindly request that you verify the flight schedule in advance prior to planning any cargo movements to avoid inconvenience.”
Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) arranged this closure with airlines and regulatory bodies six months prior, and most airlines have adjusted their schedules accordingly. Nevertheless, many passengers on both domestic and international flights may still experience cancellations, delays, or rerouting.
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will shut both runways — 09/27 and 14/32 — from 11 AM to 5 PM on Thursday for significant pre-monsoon maintenance.
This will be among the largest planned disruptions at Mumbai’s primary airport.
