Traveling along the highways linking Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Amritsar, Bathinda, Tarn Taran, Faridkot, and Abohar in Punjab and Haryana will now see an increase of ₹5 to ₹10 for most private vehicles, as the new toll rates introduced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) take effect at several toll plazas today.

As reported by News18, the revised toll rates have been implemented at over 50 toll plazas throughout Punjab and Haryana, with the following seven toll plazas witnessing an increase starting today:

Ghulal Toll Plaza (Chandigarh–Kharar–Ludhiana, NH-05)
Paind Toll Plaza (Sangrur–Dogal Kalan, NH-52)
Kot Karor Toll Plaza (Amritsar–Tarn Taran–Harike–Faridkot–Bathinda, NH-15)
Ladowal Toll Plaza (Ludhiana-Jalandhar section)
Jandiala Guru Toll Plaza (Amritsar stretch)
Abohar Toll Plaza
Maur Toll Plaza

The new toll increases fall between ₹5 to ₹10 for private cars, with return trips costing up to ₹15 extra. Commercial vehicles such as buses and trucks will also face a minimum toll hike of ₹15.

These adjustments are part of a routine process to accommodate inflation. Toll revisions occur at various times throughout the year based on the concession agreements for each toll plaza.
