Air India Express Introduces PayDay Sale Featuring Reduced Fares for Domestic and International Flights Air India Express Introduces PayDay Sale Featuring Reduced Fares for Domestic and International Flights
On Tuesday, Air India announced the expansion of its Maharaja Club loyalty programme to include Air India Express flights, enabling members to earn and redeem Maharaja Points across the low-cost carrier’s network, which spans over 55 destinations in South, Southeast, and West Asia.

The airline, under the Tata Group, stated that members can immediately begin earning Maharaja Points and Tier Points on Air India Express flights by entering their Maharaja Club ID during the booking process on its official websites and apps, or through travel agents.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India and Chairman of Air India Express, remarked, “With the expanding Air India Express network, launching the ability to accrue and redeem points is both timely and crucial, fulfilling a long-held expectation of our frequent flyers. This also illustrates our goal to develop Maharaja Points into a valuable currency over time.”
Flights with Air India Express will contribute to tier progression, aiding both minimum flight requirements and Tier Points accumulation. The earning structure encompasses various fare types, including those for senior citizens, students, and armed forces personnel.

The airline clarified that points are computed based on the base fare and fuel surcharge. Members who book through the Air India Express website or app will earn 8, 10, 11, and 12 points per ₹100 spent across the Red, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers, respectively.

Conversely, bookings via other channels, including both online and traditional travel agents, will earn 6, 8, 9, and 10 points in the same tiers.

Currently, redemptions are limited to codeshare flights marked with Air India’s ‘AI’ flight code but operated by Air India Express. The redemption rates listed are for the Economy Super Value Fare:

Sector Economy Super Value Fare (Maharaja Points)
Bengaluru–Chennai 1,500

The airline further mentioned that in subsequent phases, members traveling with Air India Express will enjoy additional perks, such as priority check-in, priority boarding, seat selection, and fee waivers for cancellations and rescheduling on qualifying flights.
