This international rail-cum-road adventure allows travellers to delve into the stunning Himalayan scenery and the diverse cultural heritage of India and Bhutan.
The tour will kick off from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station (DSJ). Passengers will explore locations such as Guwahati, Shillong, and Cherrapunji, ultimately reaching Hasimara Railway Station, which serves as the nearest railhead to Bhutan. From there, guests will be taken to Phuentsholing, the border town and the gateway into Bhutan.

As per the IRCTC website, the train accommodates a total of 150 passengers, including 20 seats in Superior AC First Class (Coupe), 38 in Superior AC First Class (Cabin), 36 in Deluxe AC II Tier, and 56 in Comfort AC III Tier.
The itinerary includes visits to the Kamakhya Temple (Mukh Darshan), Thimphu, and renowned Bhutanese sites such as Punakha and Paro.
In Cherrapunji, travellers can witness attractions like the Seven Sisters Waterfalls, Mawsmai Caves, Nohkalikai Falls, and Elephant Falls.
The pricing for the package starts at approximately ₹1.5 lakh per person for AC I Cabin/Coupe, ₹1,33,210 per person for AC II, and ₹1,16,545 per person for AC III. The fare incorporates stays in three-star hotels, vegetarian meals, transfers, and bus sightseeing. Travel insurance is also included.
Notable features of the Bharat–Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour
This 14-day journey will begin from Delhi on May 5, 2026. Passengers can also board the train at stations in Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla Junction, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.
The train will then proceed to Hasimara Railway Station in West Bengal, the nearest rail link to Bhutan, after which guests will travel by road to Phuentsholing.
The tour includes visits to Thimphu and sacred places like Punakha and Paro, along with a traditional dinner, cultural performances, and exploration of significant sites.
After completing the tour, guests will return to Hasimara and board the train back to Delhi. IRCTC will assist with cross-border permits and offer professional tour management services.
