Thomas Cook (India) Limited and Atlys have formed a strategic alliance to incorporate foreign exchange services into the visa application process for outbound travellers.

As part of this partnership, customers who apply for international visas via the Atlys platform will gain access to forex services provided by Thomas Cook India within the same process. This integration aims to enhance travel planning by merging visa processing and forex procurement into one cohesive digital experience.

Users will have the option to choose from Visa-backed prepaid forex cards or foreign currency through Thomas Cook India. These services will be bolstered by digital onboarding, video-based KYC verification, assisted support channels, and doorstep delivery across India.
The foreign exchange solutions offered through this partnership include prepaid multi-currency travel cards, student-focused cards, single-currency options with lower conversion fees, foreign currency notes for popular travel destinations, and international remittance services covering over 120 countries.

Deepesh Varma, Chief Business Officer – Foreign Exchange at Thomas Cook India, noted that the partnership aligns with the increasing demand for digital-first and integrated travel services, particularly among younger and student travellers. He emphasized that the company’s digital ecosystem, which includes its app and assisted support channels, will facilitate seamless service delivery.

Mohak Nahta, Founder and CEO of Atlys, stated that the collaboration aims to minimize friction in the international travel experience by bringing forex access closer to the visa application phase.

Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager at Visa Inc. in India, remarked that Visa network-enabled forex cards offer travellers a secure and widely accepted payment option internationally, and that the integration simplifies the financial planning required before travel.

The collaboration was facilitated by InTandem, which aided in aligning stakeholders and structuring the partnership around customer needs for integrated travel services.

Established in 2021, Atlys operates a digital visa platform that spans over 120 destinations. Thomas Cook India, founded in 1881, offers services in foreign exchange, travel, corporate travel, and related sectors through its omnichannel network.
