As an acrylic-nail enthusiast with a standing fill appointment every three weeks, I take my manicure inspiration seriously. The look currently all over my very curated For You Page: pill box nails, summer 2026’s color-blocked trend where high-contrast shades are split cleanly across the nail to mimic the two-tone look of a capsule pill.

According to Fresha—a booking platform for beauty and wellness appointments—Google searches for “pill nails” are up 84 percent in the last three months. No surprise there: The trend is playful, colorful and cool. Creators and nail artists keep posting versions that have me, a longtime single-tone manicure loyalist, seriously considering a maximalist moment.
