With tech neck among the top skin concerns in aesthetics, there’s a new in-office option for treating it. Allergan Aesthetics has announced that SKINVIVE by Juvéderm—a 2026 NewBeauty Award-winner—is now FDA-approved for horizontal neck lines, making it the first hyaluronic acid injectable cleared for the area, a development NewBeauty flagged last year.
The skin booster first made waves as an injectable treatment approved for the cheeks (for dewy, glass-like skin), helping boost smoothness without adding volume. Now, it’s headed south.
For patients looking for subtle improvement, West Palm Beach dermatologist Jacob Beer, MD says it can be a smart option for smoothing and softening the area. “It is a very light hyaluronic acid filler that helps hydrate the skin and underlying tissue but also has biostimulatory effects that can help promote collagen production and extracellular matrix protein production. It also works very well in combination with energy-based devices such as lasers to help rejuvenate the neck.”
What makes SKINVIVE different is that it’s less about filling and more about improving skin quality. Instead of adding volume or relaxing movement, it works more like a deep hydrator, helping soften crepiness and improve texture over time.
“Something that patients should know is that the depth of the injection and the skill of the provider are key here,” Dr. Beer explains. “If the injections are too superficial, it can be lumpy or you can get a bluish hue, and if it is too deep, it won’t have the desired results. The injections typically last four to six months. Patients should also know that this should be done gradually with small amounts to prevent complications.”
In clinical trials, nearly 75 percent of patients saw visible improvement after one month, with many maintaining results for up to six months. For anyone bothered by horizontal neck lines but not ready for lasers or more intensive treatments, SKINVIVE could offer a solid middle ground.
