The new services will commence on April 25, focusing on enhancing air connectivity between Gujarat’s key industrial hub and major cities in northern and western India. This expansion will contribute over 17,000 additional seats monthly to Star Air’s network.
In the updated schedule, the airline plans to operate 38 direct weekly flights linking Mundra with Mumbai, Hindon (Delhi-NCR), Goa (Mopa), and Surat. These direct routes will provide 4,104 seats each week. Overall, Star Air aims to operate a total of 54 weekly connections from Mundra, along with 16 weekly one-stop connections to Kolhapur and Bhuj.
“Mundra isn’t just a port; it’s a catalyst for India’s industrial and economic aspirations. By connecting Mundra seamlessly with major cities in Northern and Western India, we’re fostering trade, business, and opportunity while providing our passengers with unmatched comfort on each journey. This expansion signifies empowering people and industries and setting a new benchmark for regional air travel,” stated Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, in a press release.
Travelers on the new Mundra flights will fly on Star Air’s Embraer E175 aircraft, which features both business and economy class cabins. The airline will continue to provide its signature onboard experience, including hot meals and beverages on every flight.
The airline indicates that enhanced connectivity will minimize travel time and stimulate new growth in business, trade, and tourism throughout Gujarat and beyond.
The new services to Mundra are now available for booking through the airline’s official website and major travel platforms.
Star Air, part of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), launched its commercial operations in 2019. Since then, it has consistently expanded its reach across India, operating approximately 550 weekly flights to 31 destinations and transporting nearly 3 million passengers in the past six years. With the inclusion of Mundra, their network has extended to 32 destinations.
The airline currently operates a fleet of 12 aircraft, consisting of eight Embraer E175S and four Embraer E145S, with plans to increase its fleet size to 25 aircraft over the next 36 months.
