Long before gripping primers and skin care–infused makeup dominated the beauty conversation, there was Spackle. Laura Geller’s iconic primer has been a staple in makeup artists’ kits and on vanities for decades, helping foundation glide on more smoothly and last longer. Now, the beloved formula—specifically, Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer: Hydrate ($23, originally $38)—has reached another milestone: It earned the National Eczema Association (NEA) Seal of Acceptance. According to the brand, it is the first makeup primer to receive the distinction.
Why the National Eczema Association Seal Is Important
The NEA designation identifies products that meet the National Eczema Association’s standards for people with eczema and sensitive skin, reinforcing a growing demand for makeup that doesn’t just perform well, but also supports compromised skin. The Spackle Hydrate formula (a gel-cream loaded with squalane and sodium hyaluronate) is also recognized by the National Psoriasis Foundation, making it a standout option for consumers seeking complexion products that are both effective and gentle.
“Earning the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance for this Spackle Primer is an important milestone for our brand,” says founder Laura Geller. “I have always believed that beauty should never come at the cost of your skin’s health. So many of our customers live with eczema, rosacea and other skin sensitivities, and they deserve to know that the products they trust are truly formulated with their well-being in mind.”

To celebrate the achievement, Laura Geller Beauty is also launching a new campaign starring longtime brand ambassador Fran Drescher, whose outspoken advocacy for wellness and ingredient-conscious beauty makes her a natural fit. “I’ve always been passionate about health and what we put on our bodies, so being part of a campaign that truly walks the walk was something I couldn’t say no to,” says the actress, who counts Spackle as a longtime favorite.
