AbhiBus, the bus ticketing division of ixigo, has introduced a Roadside Assistance programme designed to aid passengers in case of a bus breakdown during their travels.

Bus transportation is still a popular choice in India, especially in Tier II and Tier III regions, where various operational and mechanical problems can sometimes disrupt services, even with regular maintenance and service protocols by operators.

Under this programme, if a bus booked via AbhiBus experiences a breakdown while en route, the company will organize a cab within 45 minutes to ensure passengers can continue their journey. This service will incur no additional charges for customers, with AbhiBus covering the cost of alternative transportation.
AbhiBus emphasized that the initiative aims to minimize inconvenience for passengers who might be left stranded due to breakdowns.

“For us, the travel experience doesn’t conclude at booking; it extends throughout the journey, and we’re dedicated to assisting our customers when they need us the most,” stated Rohit Sharma, COO of AbhiBus.

The company has also initiated a promotional campaign featuring actor and dancer Prabhu Deva to highlight the service.

AbhiBus mentioned that this programme is part of its wider array of customer-centric features, which include bus preview images, ticket protection options, and filters that let users choose buses based on age and other criteria.
