The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai indicated that visitors can apply for either 30-day or 60-day single-entry tourist visas, with expected approvals in 48 hours. This initiative aims to streamline the entry process and enhance Dubai’s appeal for tourists, business travelers, and families planning last-minute trips.
In a recent Instagram post, the GDRFA mentioned that applicants can secure a tourist visa by fulfilling the necessary formalities and submitting the required documents.
Visa options and fees
As per the GDRFA, a 30-day single-entry tourist visa costs AED 200, while the 60-day option is priced at AED 300, excluding any taxes and additional charges.
– 30-day tourist visa fee: AED 200.
– 60-day tourist visa fee: AED 300.
– Plus value added tax (5%).
– Security deposit: No security deposit is required for this visa type.
– Additional fees (if the sponsored individual is within the UAE):
Knowledge Dirham: AED 10.
Innovation Dirham: AED 10.
Fee within UAE: 500 Dirhams.
Documents Required
To apply for a tourist visa, travelers must submit a photograph and a copy of a passport that is valid for at least six months. Nationals of specific countries, such as Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, may also need to provide a copy of their national identity card.
Applicants must include a travel ticket for their onward journey or a departure ticket from the UAE, along with valid medical insurance.
Who needs to apply?
While citizens of approximately 70 countries are eligible for visa-on-arrival services in the UAE, travelers from nations not included in those arrangements must obtain a visa prior to their travel.

Visa applications can be submitted through the GDRFA’s website or via the smart application.
Step 1: Log into the smart services portal using your UAE pass or username.
Step 2: Choose the required visa service and fill out the application form.
Step 3: Pay the applicable fees.
